Morning Read

For a long time, I’ve poured over design books. Looking at the pretty pictures and storing up ideas in my head for my forever home. But I finally found a book that will help me with where I am now — a rental home.

I bought the book last weekend but finally had a quiet minute this morning to sit down and crack it open. Believe me when I tell you it’s so inspiring and full of nuggets of wisdom that I will carry with me as long as we rent — and beyond.

If you’ve never stopped by The Nester’s blog, I highly recommend it. It’s one of my daily stops on the web. She writes, “It doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.”

I could tattoo that on my arm — but I won’t — that’s how much I want to remember that sentiment when I decorate our home. If that’s not some decorating advice to live by — I don’t know what is.

Do you have any nuggets of wisdom about making a house a home? I’d love to hear them.

And as always —

  1. I love that quote: “It doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.” That is something I definitely need to keep in mind while I am working!

  2. im in the process of trying to decorate our new home. I don’t get much because i find myself racked with indecision. I want it to be perfect!!!!! but I love that quote, I should put it up somewhere.
